PRODUCT SUMMARY

OpCo Focus: ENOL, EML

A meter-collar device offering that allows customers to deploy backup power from a portable generator safely and simply.

EARLY LEARNINGS

Generally, peer utilities allow these types of devices, but they do not market, rent, or sell them to customers. They have policies and procedures in place to allow for their usage. There are a few exceptions to this noted below.

FP&L Home (unregulated subsidiary of FP&L) offers a similar device as a part of their SurgeShield subscription offering. This service has over 1 million active subscribers and a gross profit over 90%. The Generlink device that has been tested also has this surge proection capability.

PG&E has developed and produced their own meter collar device which they deploy into high-risk & high-need areas. These are mostly customers that are subject to PSPS's for fire safety.
